The Process

The Process for being awarded a Gold Medal of Achievement does not end at earning the merits.  Once a candidate has succesfully completed all requirements they will need to fill out an application and send it to the District. Once the District has verified the application, the candidate is notified of the next review board that they may participate in. On succesfully completing the review board, the candidates application is sent to the Royal Rangers National Office for processing. Review board dates may be found on the District calendar.

The Board

The GMA review board is held approximately 3 times annualy. A candidate must have his essay, christian service project/workbook postmarked no later than 30 days prior to a review board convening in order to participate.

The Medal

On succesfully completing the review board, the candidates application is forwarded to the national office for processing. Processing usually takes 4-6 weeks. The medal is then sent to the Royal Rangers District Director for award. A notification and letter from the national office are sent to the GMA recipient.
